Juneau, Alaska’s natural wonder

When I first arrived in Juneau, I saw this description in a local magazine.

More wildlife than people.
More miles of trails than miles of roads.
More glaciers than you can see in a day. “

You can say about Juneau that is one of the largest wilderness areas in the United States.

Surrounded by intercoastal waterways, dense rainforests, inspiring glaciers and wildflower-filled alpine meadows, it’s like no other place on Earth!

Whether you choose hiking and biking (over 250 miles of trails destined for nature walks to uphill treks), kayaking, rafting, surfing, paddle-boarding, flightseeing, exploring historic downtown, whale watching, dog sledging, ziplining, fishing or having a sample of the award winning craft beer at the Alaskan Brewing Company, Juneau is all about adventure.

Not to be missed!

  • Mount Roberts Tramway - One journey, three realms: spectacular views in the wild, history, art and culture in the Chilkat Theater and Dine with a view atop Mount Roberts.

  • Historic Downtown Juneau – because it’s one of the few towns that didn’t burn down at some point in its history. Many original builings still stand, from 100 year old hotels and saloons, historic churches and colorful Victorian houses.

  • Tracy’s King Crab Shack - it’s THE most delicious crab you ever ate, but don’t take my word for it, check it yourself!

Ps. regarding the weather in Juneau, layers are key: wear a light short/long sleeved shirt and a pull-over or sweater for warmth, with a waterproof outer layer. Mandatory: waterproof footwear.
